A large crowd of readers, writers and visitors flock to Bogra at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair. The fair has started from last Tuesday at Shaheed Minar square of Shaheed Khokon Park in Bogra city under the initiative of Sammilita Sanskultur Jot Bogra. On the second day of the 10-day fair, the stalls of the fair were crowded with readers and visitors from the morning on the Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day.

At the fair, young people roam around in groups, taking selfies and pictures. Bought less books. On the other hand, children and teenagers who accompanied their parents to the fair collected books of their favorite authors, some autographs of authors and poets.

After visiting the fair yesterday afternoon, it can be seen that 40 stalls of the fair are decorated with different books. These stalls are arranged with new and old books. Besides, new books by local writers have also arrived at the fair. Several new books were unveiled on the fair stage.


News corner publications have been arranged with more than one lakh books in the fair. Kalipad Das, the owner of the company, told Prothom Alo that among the best-selling books are Anisul Haque's 'Kakhno Amar Sanya', Muhammad Zafar Iqbal's 'Ogo Tuntuni Kigo Chhotachu', Sumant Aslam's 'Adhek Tumi Hali Banalta Sen', Mohiuddin Ahmed's 'Ever made by me'. 1971 Last Days of Blockade Bangladesh'. The online book stalls at the fair are crowded with small readers. Shahadat Hossain, owner of the company, said that children's books are being sold more at the fair.

A group of young people were seen at Isha Prakash's stall near the main gate of the fair. These students of Govt Azizul Haque College are busy taking selfies and pictures with books. When asked why she took a selfie without buying a book, a young woman told Prothom Alo, 'I came to visit the fair today. Today I am taking a selfie with my friends, the fair is not over yet, another day I will buy the book. At this stall, I spoke with poet and writer Ananya Rafique. This is his new book 'Dahan Ankit'. He said, 'If the reader reads my book with interest then I am worth it.'

Jinya Supti, a student of Pundra University, who came to buy books at the fair, expressed her displeasure over the fact that there were shops selling toys, inflatables and toys in the fair grounds. According to him, it would have been better if there were no other product shops inside the book fair.
