The US delegation will discuss this issue in Dhaka during a three-day visit

A delegation headed by Rear Admiral Eileen Lubacher, Senior Director of South Asia Affairs of the US National Security Council (NSC) has arrived in Bangladesh on a three-day visit.

They will be on tour from today Saturday till next Monday (February 26).
The other members of the delegation are US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Afrin Akhtar and US Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator Michael Schiffer, the US Embassy in Dhaka said in a release today.

They will discuss strengthening diplomatic ties with the Government of Bangladesh, addressing challenges and common vision of advancing mutual interests in the Indo-Pacific region. During the visit, the US delegation will also interact with young civil rights activists, civil society, labor leaders and people involved in promoting free media.

The statement said the United States is committed to advancing a common vision for a free Indo-Pacific region, supporting human rights, combating climate change, advancing regional resilience against international threats, and partnering with Bangladesh for economic reforms.
