They decorate people's dreams in brick-cement colors

Anwar Landmark embodies the philosophy and principles of late industrialist Anwar Hussain, creating its own signature to become one of the leading real estate companies in the country in two decades. Besides maximum use of water and air, their projects are also excellent examples of green. Munir Hasan spoke with Hossain Khaled, Managing Director of Anwar Landmark.

The Dilkusha-Motijheel commercial area is deserted on weekends. So I reached Baitul Hossain Bhaban on 27 Dilkusha on time. The headquarters of Anwar Group is in this building. The 16-storey building houses the corporate headquarters of 37 companies of the group.

I have come to speak with Hossain Khaled, Managing Director of Anwar Landmark, one of the companies of Anwar Group. It was said that I will have lunch with him. Food for all on the 16th floor of the building. I had lunch there with Hossain Khaled. Hossain Mehmood, Executive Director and Group Vice Chairman Hossain Akhtar.
We were talking.

Later our conversation started in the Managing Director's room in Anwar Landmark's office on the 13th floor. There is a view of the sky from the house, there is also a balcony-like area with several plants. Hossain Khaled said, almost every floor of this building had a room allocated for his father late industrialist Anwar Hossain. He used to say that the room should have 8 to 12 hours a day with a view of the sky and a touch of greenery.

It is known from Hossain Khaled that Anwar Hossain started the business but in every case he had an eye on opening a factory. Be it textiles, steel, cables, building materials or physical infrastructure. Dad used to get a lot of satisfaction from making something. He felt a sense of satisfaction from thinking, gathering raw materials to finally seeing the final product. He did a lot of improvisation. Even if he sees the shadow of satisfaction on the customer's face, he gets satisfaction. His joy was in making.

So Anwar Hossain was involved in civil construction contracting business from the beginning of the business. In most cases he used to get the work done by different people, but supervised himself. Through this he was able to build a large network of architects, engineers, construction contractors. As he enjoyed construction, Anwar himself built the physical infrastructure of all the factories of the group. And thus a special capability of the team is created in building physical infrastructure.

In 2002, Anwar Hossain's elder son Manwar Hossain institutionalized that capability. The journey starts from Anwar's landmark. Their first two projects are Nawabpur Tower and Udayan Apartment Project.
