How to make this two step halwa without sugar
On Shabbat, many homes have halwa with bread. Halwa can be made without sugar. Recipe given by Afroza Nazneen
Ingredients: Bitter gourd 4 cups, sugar substitute ½ cup, condensed milk 2 cups, ghee 3 tbsp, green food colouring, cardamom powder 1 tsp, raisins as required, cashews as required, pistachios for garnish.
Method: Drain the water from the gourd. Now put the roasted bitter gourd and milk together in the oven. Add substitute sugar when it boils. When the sugar water dries up, stir in green food colour, ghee and cardamom. Remove from the pan and stir in the raisins and almonds. Garnish as desired and serve.
