He rarely speaks conventionally. He also played cricket in the traditional way. Ben Stokes continued his streak even before reaching the 100 Test milestone. For him this particular match is just a number. And he said this knowing the importance of playing 100 Tests.

Teammate Ollie Pope also spoke about him ahead of his 100th Test. According to Stokes' assistants, Stokes changed the game. However, the English captain did not give up.
"Each Test is as important as the next," Stokes told the BBC. Then another Test will come, which will be the 101st Test. It is also proof that the career is very long. But what does 99, 100 or 101 matter. It's just a number. But don't take that to mean I'm not happy with the opportunities I've had. But when it comes to milestones, there's no end before the end.'

Stokes made his debut at Adelaide in 2013. Stokes is going to play 100 Tests as England's 16th cricketer. The current team has two cricketers who have played 100 Tests - Root and James Anderson. Playing as a batsman in the current series due to injury, Stokes took 6251 runs and 197 wickets in 99 Tests. Stokes is the third cricketer after Gary Sobers and Jacques Kallis to have 6000 runs and 200 wickets. He has 128 sixes in Tests, which is the highest.
