England announced squad for Ranchi Test. Spinner Rehan Ahmed and pacer Mark Wood have been dropped from the team. Ollie Robinson got a chance in the team for the first time in the series. This pacer will pair up with James Anderson with the new ball.

Shoaib Bashir, who made his debut in the second Test of the series, has returned to the team. In other words, England will enter the field with two pacers and two spinners in Ranchi against India. Besides, bowler Ben Stokes can also be seen in the Ranchi Test. This all-rounder did not bowl in the previous three Tests. And there is Joe Root to work 'part-time' as a spinner.

Robinson did not get a place in the team for the first three Tests on the tour of India. Robinson's performance against India was excellent. In 2021, Robinson took 21 wickets in the first 4 matches of the 5 match series against India in England. 15 of them were specialist batsmen.

Robinson has visited India before. He was a reserve member of the England squad to tour India in 2021. He was taken in amid fears that a player might be knocked out due to Covid. Seber could not play. So before the start of the tour, Robinson had said that he was looking forward to playing Tests in India. He is putting an end to that wait even if it is a little late.

This will be Robinson's first competitive match since he was ruled out of the third Ashes Test in July last year due to injury. Since making his England debut in June 2021, Robinson has taken 76 wickets in 19 Tests.
