Mbappe, who was sent off, scored as a substitute

Kylian Mbappe was not in the starting eleven in the French League A match last night. Due to his decision to leave PSG, whether he will be kept out of the XI or not, the question has been raised on social media. Some even saw it as Mbappe's 'punishment'.

But Mbappe had to field PSG who were fighting in the match. The French star also scored a goal in the 62nd minute. PSG left the field with a 2-0 win against Nantes.

PSG did not play well in the first half in the opponent's field. They could have gone behind had Nantes' goal not been disallowed just before the break. Apart from the disallowed goal, Nantes did not play very well.

PSG were not in their best form after the break. Meanwhile, Lucas Hernandez brought relief to the struggling PSG. He scored in the 60th minute of the match to give the team a lead. Mbappe entered the field two minutes after this goal.

After Mbappé entered the field, momentum came to PSG's game. This forward took the penalty in the 78th minute of the match. He was brought down by Douglas Augusto as he took possession of the ball inside the box. Mbappe scored from the spot kick to secure the win for the team. With this win, PSG consolidated the top spot in the table with 53 points from 22 matches with 16 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss. They moved 14 points clear of second-placed Nice.

While there has been much talk of keeping Mbappe on the bench, transfer expert and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano says the decision to keep him out is the coach's, not the club's. Basically, he wanted to give some rest to one of the best stars of the team after the Champions League match.
